Introduction to Hajj & Umrah Travel Etiquette!

At Al Zowar Travel, we aim to make your Hajj and Umrah journey smooth and fulfilling. However, it’s important to remember that these pilgrimages are deeply spiritual commitments, and they should focus on fulfilling your duties to Allah. The journey may involve physical discomfort, but it’s all in the path of devotion.

Researching Your Package

We highly encourage all our travelers to review the packages offered carefully. Our staff is always here to provide accurate information about the details of each package, but it is your responsibility to ensure that the package meets your requirements. Prices are quoted in Saudi Riyals, and package pricing is subject to change. Please note if there is a change in price after purchase, the difference will be your responsibility.

Hotel Ratings & Availability

The hotel accommodation ratings are set by the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, not international standards. We strive to offer the best possible options, but please be prepared for potential hotel availability or ratings changes. All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation. Availability can fluctuate, and we are not responsible for any changes in these details.

Visa and Documentation

It is your responsibility to submit all required documents for the visa application. Al Zowar Travel cannot be held accountable for visa denials. Once you have applied for the electronic number, you will be responsible for payment, even if your visa is not granted. We recommend that you submit your passport and relevant documents well in advance, preferably three weeks before departure.

Traveling to the Airport

Ensure that you arrive at the airport at least 3-4 hours before departure. You are responsible for knowing your luggage allowance and making sure your bags comply with airline regulations. Liquid restrictions apply, and over 100 milliliters of liquids are not allowed in your luggage.

Hajj & Umrah Process at Airports

Due to changes in the system, most Umrah travelers are processed at the Hajj terminal (except for British Airways and Saudi Airlines passengers). You may be asked to remain on board the plane until it reaches the Hajj terminal. The customs process can be time-consuming, with wait times varying from 5 hours to more, depending on the situation. Please be patient and follow the instructions of the airport staff.

Travel SIM Cards & Wristbands

Upon arrival in Jeddah, we recommend purchasing a Saudi SIM card for easier communication. Once you pass through immigration, baggage claim, and customs, a representative from Dar Al Eiman will guide you to your transport. It is crucial to wear the wristbands provided at all times for security purposes. Ensure that you carry your passport and other travel documents with you during the journey.

Processing Times at Hajj Terminal

Please be prepared for the possibility of extended processing times—8 to 12 hours or more at the Hajj terminal. Follow the guidance of your group leader and ensure you stay with your group throughout the journey. Always keep your luggage tags visible, and make sure that your hand luggage includes any essential medicines, food, and documents.

Money and Currency Exchange

Do not carry large amounts of cash. We recommend only carrying a small portion of your money with you at all times. For currency exchange, we advise against using traveler’s cheques and suggest exchanging your currency for Saudi Riyals upon arrival at any local bank.

Arrival Process at Makkah

After arriving at the airport, the journey to Makkah’s accommodation can take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours, depending on the number of pilgrims and logistical factors. Due to the large volume of Hujaj from all over the world, there may be delays. It is essential to remain patient and always stay with your group.

Medical Considerations

If you have a medical condition or disability, please notify us beforehand. This will allow us to make the necessary arrangements for you, ensuring your journey is as comfortable and safe as possible.

Meal Arrangements

Meals are included in all our packages, and we work with external catering services to provide food during your trip. However, there may be days when meals are delayed, especially during key dates such as the 6th, 7th, and 12th of Dhul Hijjah. We rely on the group’s collective decision regarding meal preferences.

Hajj and Umrah are not just physical journeys but spiritual experiences that require commitment, patience, and understanding. By following the above guidelines and working closely with our team, we ensure that your pilgrimage will be smooth and spiritually enriching. Let Al Zowar Travel guide you on this sacred journey to Allah’s house.
